Drunk driver caught taking woman to pick up licence

A man was caught drink driving after he drove his girlfriend to a police station to pick up her licence – which she lost for the same offence.
The 22-year-old man pulled up in front of the police station in Abbotsford, in Canada’s British Columbia province in his black pick-up truck with his 21-year-old companion.
But after parking in a police space an officer in reception immediately suspected the woman had been drinking.
// The truck was then found to contain opened and unopened beer cans and was later towed away for illegal parking.
The driver failed a breathalyser test and had his licence confiscated.
Constable Ian MacDonald said the pair had not tried to hide the fact they had had a good weekend.
“That might not be the best time to go and retrieve your driver’s licence,” he told the Province newspaper.
“The Abbotsford Police are preparing for the couple’s next visit, this time to collect the man’s license.
“We are hopeful that they will arrive by taxi.”
A man who had been sniffing petrol burst into flames after he was shot with a Taser by police in Australia.
